Child Accidentally Run Over By Mother

Several law enforcement agencies are investigating how a mother leaving for work backed over her two year old. CHP Public Information Officer Dina Hernandez says the Nevada County Sheriff’s Deputies respond to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital to a report of a two year old child with suspicious injures. Officer Hernandez says after beginning the investigation deputies learned a 41 year old mother was leaving for work when she backed over the child.

The incident occurred on on Thursday afternoon on Round Valley Road near Quail Creek, south of Alta Sierra. The 41 year old woman driving a 1997 Dodge Ram pickup apparently backed over the child and left unaware of what occurred. The child’s brother reported the accident and the woman quickly returned. The condition of the child is not immediately known. The CHP and the Sheriff are still investigating the incident.

I am the father of the child and I would like to thank all the emergency personel that has been involved in this unforninate accident. Everybody from the CHP, Sherrif department to the hospital personel and UC Davis was the best care she could have received. She will make a full recovery and it will just take some time. Thank You
