Now that Big Brother Big Sisters has hired a Site Coordinator for the Pals Program, more matches are being made between High school age mentors and grade school children. The Pals program pairs high school juniors and seniors with little pals in 3rd through 6th grades. DeeJay Newell who is the new Pals site coordinator says having been in the Pals program herself when she was at Nevada Union High School is helping her recruit Pal volunteers..

She will be visiting 2nd grade classes throughout the district to let students know the Pals program is available to them starting next school year . Pals meet once a week and careful followup is done to see how the pals are doing.
