CHP Arrests Man on Drug Charges Following Car Stop

The CHP arrested a man on drug charges following a car stop last evening.  At approximately 9:45 p.m.. A CHP canine officer patrolling the area of East Main Street in Grass Valley noticed a 1999 Cadillac Northstar sedan with a number of obvious equipment violations and initiated a traffic stop as the vehicle traveled down the freeway.  The driver failed to produce identification and was also found to be in possession of a large knife determined to be illegal.  Upon further investigation, a large quantity of coltrolled substances, believed to be methamphetamine was discovered in teh vehcile.  Also located were packaging supplies, a digital scale al large amount of cash in assorted bills, as well as drug paraphernalia.  32 year old Mark Dewayne Bowden was arrested and later booked into jail at the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on charges of possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of an illegal weapon. His bail was set at $100 thousand dollars.
