CHP Begins Maximum Enforcement Period

The California Highway Patrol will be in maximum enforcement mode for New Years.  CHP Public Information Officer Greg Tassone says the enforcement period will start at 6p.m. on Tuesday, December 31st and run through New Year’s day to Midnight Wednesday night.

This year the CHP will not be participating in a DUI checkpoint, but officer Tassone says anyone who observes a suspected driver under the Influence is encouraged to notify the CHP.

Last year the CHP Grass Valley office made one DUI Arrest from New year’s Eve through New Year’s day, an indicator that people are getting the message not to drink and drive.
