An alert CHP Officer became suspicious after making a traffic stop east of the Farad Exit on Eastbound I80 late Thursday night. The officer noted behavior from the male driver and passenger that led him to believe illegal drug activity was occurring within the vehicle. The officer request assistance from the CHP canine unit.

The suspects Brian Brandt 49 of Richville,  Minnesota, and Thomas Hatcher, 36, of Hopkins, Minnesota were each charged with 9 counts of possession, transportation, and sale of narcotics and marijuana. The incident remains under investigation.
