CHP Offers Senior Safety Course

The Highway Patrol will be conducting a class for senior drivers this week. The ‘Age Well, Drive Smart’ Class is held about three to four times a year, but this will be the first time it will be held at the new C-H-P Nevada County office.

Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Greg Tassone says there will be several audio/visual presentations, they will present statistics about drivers in the upper age range, talk about vision and mobility issues, and take questions. Tassone says the classes are very popular.

Capacity for the class is about 50 people. It will be held Thursday night at 5:30 at the new Highway Patrol office on McCourtney Road right across from the Fairgrounds, and will last about two hours. For more information, or to sign up, call 477-4900.
