CHP Requests Public Assistance

The California Highway Patrol is requesting assistance from the public regarding the 5 car pile-up on westbound Highway 80 just east of Highway 65 Tuesday morning.

Officer David Martinez says that there is some conflicting evidence regarding the cause of the collision.

Five injuries ranging from moderate to life-threatening occurred to children as a result of the accident. Initially a fatality was reported, however that has been corrected.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Auburn CHP office. Martinez says all of the children were properly restrained. The results could have been far worse.
