CHP Saves Man Trying To Save Dog

A elderly man tried to capture his dog and narrowly missed being hit by several cars. CHP Public Information Officer Greg Tassone says the incident happened at the Highway 49 and Empire Street intersection this morning (Wednesday). Tassone says two officers quickly responded and were able to move the man off  the roadway before he was hit by cars or trucks.

Several cars had to come to a complete stop on the freeway rather than hit the man. Officer Tassoni says both the man and the dog were removed from the road. The officer hate to think of what might have happened had they not gotten to the location in time.
