CHP Seeks Help With Mystery Item that Caused Crash

Two vehicles traveling westbound on highway 80 near Weimar Cross Rd Sunday morning collided after a mystery object crashed through the windshield of one of  the vehicles. CHP Officer David Martinez 45 says year old Androo Allen from Reno was driving a 2003 Cadillac Escalade in the fast lane when the second vehicle driven by  Kurt Reisinger 54 of Colfax in the slow lane began merging left and hit the right side of his vehicle.

First responders arrived on the scene and realized a large piece of metal had passed through the windshield and struck Mr. Reisinger in the head. It is unknown where the piece of metal originated, but it appears to be part of a large truck.

It is assumed that the metal hit Mr. Reisinger prior to his vehicle hitting the Escalade.
The CHP is enlisting help from the public in trying to identify its origination.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Auburn CHP Office.
Kurt Reisinger was transported ny CALSTAR to Sutter Rosevile Medical Center with serious injuries.
