If you’ve ever thought about getting more involved in the community, but you didn’t know where to start, here’s an idea for you. Sign up for the Nevada County Citizens Academy…
Assistant County C-E-O Alison Lehman says there are ten Monday night classes, each for a couple of hours starting September 11, dinner will be provided, there will be a guest speaker from each of the different departments, and then you get to go to the different facilities. JoAnn Marie did it last year…
Tom Cross completed the academy a couple of years ago, and felt after that, that he should get involved. He asked what he could do, and was told that he could serve on various boards and commissions….
Cross has been involved with that for a couple of years now, and also serves on the cannabis Citizens Advisory Group. There is an application to fill out, which you can do online at www.mynevadacounty.com/nc/ceo/Pages/Citizen%27s-Academy.aspx. The deadline is Friday. About 15 people will be selected.
