Citizens Committee Ready For Second Pot Meeting

Nevada County’s ‘Citizens Advisory Group’ on medical marijuana is gearing up for its second meeting. The 16-member panel is charged with drawing up a cannabis ordinance for Nevada County that is deemed to be fair to everyone–users, growers, and neighbors. The first meeting last month was more of an overview of the current ordinance and a ‘get-to-know-you’ session for the committee members, who represent various interests throughout the area. Committee member Tom Cross is from Penn Valley. He says he came onto the committee completely uneducated about marijuana rules and regulations…

The second meeting will go over how other counties are addressing cannabis, and potential cannabis-related activities that might be allowed in Nevada County. There will also be public comment. The meeting is from 2 to 5pm tomorrow (Tuesday) at the Foothill Events Center, on Idaho Maryland Road in Grass Valley.
