City Suspends ‘Non-Essential’ Spending

The city was originally scheduled to pay a 200-dollar meal stipend for seven staff members to attend an emergency management course in Maryland. Now only three will go–one from the Police Department, one from the Fire Department, and one from city staff. Kiser says the 60-day freeze will not affect the day-to-day operations of the city.
