Classified Employees of the Year Named

They are among the more “unheralded” school workers. So each year, counties recognize the work of their classified employees. Seven have been selected this year for the statewide award program, out of over 800, by the Nevada County Office of Education. Shar Johns is the Associate Superintendent for Educational Services. Also recognized in that category is Carol Lee, from the Nevada Joint Union High School District. Four have been recognized in the Para-Educator and Instructional Assistant category: Margaret Baldwin, with the Clear Creek School District…Stephanie Mashburn, with the Superintendent of Schools Office…Vickie Kopec with the Pleasant Valley Union Elementary School District…and Terry Chapman, with the Grass Valley School District. And in the Maintenance, Operations, and Facilities category…it’s Phil Dittberner, with the Nevada City School District.
