Cleanup Begins of Fire Damaged Homes

It’s taken a little longer than expected, but debris cleanup is now underway on the 30 or so properties damaged by the Lobo and McCourtney fires. The state is doing the work, with CalRecycle overseeing the operations along with the state Office of Emergency Services. County Environmental Health Director Amy Irani says work gets underway this week, with many of the local areas scheduled to start today…

29 homes were destroyed from the McCourtney and Lobo Fires in Nevada County. Some additional properties didn’t have homes destroyed, but either had outbuildings that were lost, or other severe damage.
