Climate Change Presentation Topic Sierra College

Climate change impacts on foothill communities is the topic of the latest presentation of the Sierra College Science Speaker series at the Nevada County campus, which is Tuesday night, April 12th. Timmer says with state budget discussions underway, this is a good time to bring this crucial issue back to the front burner, to influence policies and funding, which, she says, often overlook the impacts on smaller, rural, foothill regions. She says there could also be better coordination of existing resources in the Sierra..

Timmer says increased investment in preservation and restoration of the upper watersheds will provide more reslience to climate change impacts statewide. The presentation is from 6:30 to 7:30 this evening, in the Multipurpose Center, building N-12, at the Sierra College Nevada County campus.
