The Colfax Falcons got a much needed Pioneer Valley League win Friday night as they defeated the Bruins at Bear River 31-14. The Falcons came out and scored on their first two possessions to take a 14-0 lead, but then Bear River’s defense toughened and eventually forced a turnover, a Luke Baggett interception that led to a Bruins touchdown to cut the lead to 14-7 at the half. The Bruins then closed it at 14 all on a Tre Maronic touchdown catch of 52 yards but the Falcons scored the last 17 points led by Mason Aherns 260 rushing yards to improve to 1-2 in the PVL and 6-2 overall. Bear River has the same record and will host the Placer Hillmen next Friday night.
