Sierra College has made some decisions about graduation this year, and the fall semester next school year. Nevada County Campus Executive Dean Stephanie Ortiz says there will be no ceremony at any of the four campuses, but will be invited back to go through ceremonies next year if they choose. They will however, get something extra along with their degrees….
It’s been described as like a yearbook video. Degrees will be mailed to the students who have earned them. Also, Sierra College has become the first communiuty college in the state to announce they are going to distance learning for the fall semester. Ortiz says essentially all classes will be done online, but there are a couple of exceptions…
Officials at the main campus in Rocklin say the decision was made now to give teachers and students time to prepare for online instruction. Fall registration opens on June 23.
