Collision 49 at South Yuba River- Road Open

Highway 49 north of Nevada City re-opened around 3:45 PM following a multiple car collision involving multiple injuries and a car partially over the edge of the cliff closed the highway in both directions near the South Yuba River while emergency crews prepared to airlift a patient to UC Med Center. The CHP H24 helicopter and two ground ambulances were mobilized and Highway 49 was blocked by emergency equipment.

A total of four patients are being transported from the 49 incident-  a three year old by air ambulance, the remaining three via ground ambulance to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. Emergency personnel still on scene.
