Combie Accident Takes Out Power Pole

Repair crews are still trying to replace a power pole after a car accident late last  night. CHP Officer Justin Barnthouse the accident happened on Combie Road near Cascade crossing Road. A 24 year old woman from Auburn was driving a 2012 Dodge Avenger when she reached for a package that had fallen off the seat of her car. Officer Barnthouse says her car sustained major damage.

The CHP says there is no indication that alcohol or drugs were involved in the accident.   The woman was not seriously injured.

2,400 customers lost their power when the utility pole was sheered .  PG and E spokesperson Brandy Ehlers says most of those customers have been brought back on line.

Ehlers says any customers who may face spoilage of food because of the power outage can file a claim with PG and E.

Many people who lost power may have had their refrigerators full of perishables for Thanksgiving dinner.
