Grass Valley Police Chaplains and local community leaders have partnered together to organize a Community Disaster Response Fund to help those in Nevada County devastated by the local wildfires. Grass Valley Police Chaplain Sam Barger says so many people have lost their homes but he says Nevada County was not getting noticed.
Barger got together with other Police Department Chaplains in the community and they put together an Oversite Committee to make the program happen.
Members of the oversight Committee include Greg Fowler, Sue Horne, Mike Bratton, Dan Prout, and police Chaplains Sam Barger and Toby Nelson.. Barger says they are right now in the fundraising stage.
Barger says 100 percent of all donations will go directly to verified victims, as determined by the Oversight Committee. Applications for assistance are available at the Grass Valley Police Department Facebook page, Grass Valley Police Department front office. and with this story on the KNCO website www.knco.com.
