Community Health Assessment Completed for Nevada County

Nevada County Public Health Officials have just completed a comprehensive Community Health Assessment that looks at both the health needs and assets in Nevada County. Jill Blake is Nevada County Public Health Director.

The process included multiple sources of data to understand the health and concerns of County’s residents. Nevada County’s Health Officer, Dr. Ken Cuttler says the community surveys were insightful.

Also in the top 5 health concerns were access to safe and affordable housing, Mental Health Services and Substance Abuse treatment.

Dr. Cutler says 75 % of health care dollars today are spent on managing chronic diseases.
