Community Support Network To Provide Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Meeting

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and the Community Support Network (CSN) of Nevada County is hosting an informational meeting about child abuse trends in Nevada County. CSN Coordinator, Paula Roediger, has invited Child Protection Services Director, Nick Ready, to present statistics and services covered by CPS. Roediger, also with the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Western Nevada County, says there is a startling statistic around child maltreatment.

Roediger explains that child neglect is the simple absence of an adult in the child’s life.

The other eighteen percent of maltreatment is a combination of physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, and psychological abuse.
The Community Support Network meeting is April 2 at the Madelyn Helling Library Gene Albaugh Community Room from 3:30 PM to 5 PM.
