Competency Questioned For Girl Assault Suspect

The mental competency of a man who allegedly assaulted a 10-year-old Grass Valley girl last year has been questioned again by his attorney. So a Nevada County judge has approved another evaluation for Christian Stevens, with a status on the evaluation tentatively scheduled for February 29th. The girl managed to get away from the suspect by hitting him with her trumpet case, near Condon Park.
