LaMalfa says Democratic leaders in the Senate have promised a vote on appropriations bills on the floor. That means even if both houses disagree, a conference committee might be able to work something out. Congress is expected to go on recess again in October, to allow campaigning for re-election. LaMalfa made these comments when he visited KNCO late last month.
