The US Forest Service is not effectively managing our national forests…that’s according to Congressman Doug LaMalfa.
The Congressman says one example that is hindering the economy is the ability for land owners to harvest timber following a forest fire. The charred wood has a short life span.
The Congressman says that the Forest Service needs to press forward and not worry about the threat of lawsuits.
LaMalfa is urging hearings to address the inaction within the Forest Service and move towards positive forest management.
