Constitution Day Celebrated in Nevada City

The 48th annual Constitution Day celebration tops a weekend of festivities in Nevada City starting Friday with the The Delaware Regiment of the Brigade of the American Revolution offering living history demonstrations of Revolutionary War soldiers drilling and firing, music by the California Consolidated Drum Band, and colonial life living history all in Pioneer Park Friday through  Sunday.  Nevada County Court Executive Officer Sean Metroka says this is their second year of being here.constitution-day

On Saturday there’s more Revolutionary War demonstrations and the Nevada County Concert Band will be putting on a concert in the afternoon.

On Sunday the re-enactment of the signing of the Constitution takes place before the parade.

Then at 2 p.m. Sunday the Constitution Day Parade begins down broad street.

Then capping off events Sunday, the 49er Rotary Duck Races will be underway on Deer Creek in front of Cornerstone Realty.
