Building industry officials felt they needed to do some last-minute lobbying, to make sure the state did not exclude construction as essential work, when the statewide shelter-in-place order was issued nearly three weeks ago. But while work continues in the Sacramento region, it’s come to a halt in most of the Bay Area, due to heightened economic uncertainty. In Nevada County, the executive director of the local contractors association, Libby Goldsmith, says most businesses have not been impacted, so far…

But Goldsmith says the home inventory won’t likely change much, which has been low for some time.
