Cooper Theft at NID Powerhouse

Copper thieves hit a NID powerhouse early Wednesday. Nevada County Undersheriff Joe Salivar says NID noticed their communications with the Chicago Park power house went off line at five Wednesday morning. The Undersheriff says several hundred feet of the communication lines was cut and stolen.

UnderSheriff Salivar says the value of the copper communication wire was only a hundred dollars. It will cost the district almost two thousand dollars to repair the line. Investigators are contacting metal recyclers to alert them about people trying to sell the wire.
