Coronavirus Cases Now up to 18 in Nevada County

The number of coronavirus cases has more than doubled over the weekend. There are now 18 cases reported (as of Monday morning), compared to just eight on Friday afternoon. County spokesman Andrew Trygg says the number of cases was expected to increase, with more test results coming back…

The severity of the cases has not been disclosed, and neither have the approximate ages of the victims. Trygg does say 14 of the 18 cases are from the eastern part of the county, and Trygg has a theory as to why that is…

The concern is if Tahoe Forest Hospital would have the capacity to handle a number of severe cases. According to the county’s website, two Nevada County cases have been travel related, four have been from community transmission, and the other dozen are under investigation.
