Lovett says a smoking cessation program is an important addition to corr as 72 percent of the people going through drug or alcohol withdrawal also utilize tobacco. She put together the grant application to CVS which was approved.
Once staff is trained the smoking cessation program will be offered free to the public as well as to clients of CoRR. CVS presented Community Recovery Resources with the check last Friday, and the Coalition for a Drug Free Nevada County, the Youth outreach team and Nevada County Public Health presented CVS with their “Integrity Award” for their decision last year to stop selling cigarettes, tobacco and nicotine products in CVS stores nationwide.
