Nevada City has not gotten as many applicants for a marijuana dispensary as they thought they were going to, but that could mean that one could be in business sooner than planned. City Planner Amy Wolfson says the City Council is expected to approve a proposal that would eliminate one of the steps in the bidding process…
The second phase would have narrowed a list of six applicants down to three or four, so the step is redundant, and would also save the three applicants about 16-hundred dollars in fees. Wolfson says a selection committee will still evaluate the three applicants…
A recently-adopted city ordinance will allow only one dispensary inside the city limits. Wolfson says with only three applicants, the selection process could be sped up by about a month, meaning the final choice could come by sometime in November.
