Fire Safe Council Executive Director Joanne Drummond says they are applying for grant monies that will be made available from that fee. She says the application process has already started, and pre-screen applications are due this week…

Even if all goes well, the money wouldn’t be available until July of next year. The fee is assessed to rural homeowners in an S-R-A, or state responsibility area, for fire protection.

So, will you use the money to help the people who paid the fees in the first place?
I guess you will have several meetings and lunches first.
Almost like welfare, HUH?
