Council Member Responds to Election Results

Mixed feelings about the initial results of the Grass Valley City Council election. Current Council Member Lisa Swarthout is pleased that incumbent and Vice Mayor Jason Foyer was re-elected and the top vote-getter for the two open positions.

However, the second place vote getter, if the numbers hold true, will be current County Supervisor Terry Lamphier. That choice does not sit as well with Swarthout.

Council member Swarthout hopes that Lamphier might reconsider his position and have a change of heart before being seated on the Council in December.

Lamphier is currently under investigation for alleged misuse of county computer equipment to access inappropriate material.

Lisas empathy is a little lacking. Terry has not even been charged with a crime. Let's wait for the investigation to reveal if he is innocent or guilty before we start calling for him to resign. Obviously, the people of GV feel differently or they wouldn't have voted for him.

If she is so quick to judge others, I think she is the one who should resign.

I guess councilwoman Lisa Swarthout doesn't believe in an America where a person is innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. How sad she represents our town on the council that should be respectful of the laws of our great United States of America. Shame on her!
