Counting Continues at Elections Office

The Nevada County elections office is still counting ballots from the June 5th Primary Election. Assistant County Clerk/Recorder Gail Smith says the Canvas is going smoothly.

The Elections Office  still has 3,300 vote by mail ballots to be counted from voters who dropped off their mail ballots at polling places on election day  or they were captured at the post office.
The total number of counted votes cast in Nevada County is at 24,841, that represents a voter turnout of just under 41 percent.  Last year during the primary election Nevada County voter turnout was at 51 percent.
