Things just got a little easier for candidates and the committees that have to file Fair Political Practices Commission political campaign disclosures as the County has now adopted a new online reporting system. Nevada County Clerk Recorder Greg Diaz says Nevada County now joins some 47 jurisdictions in California to adopt electronic filing. He says NetFile, the online filing system will conserve resources in the elections office and the public has free access to all information.
The public will be able to print out any of the statements that have been provided by the candidates or the committees. The online program also allows the public to search by various fields.
The public can also search by expenditure. Diaz says documents going back to 2014 are also being scanned into the electronic system by elections staff and all records going forward will be available at any time on line.
Diaz says the Nevada County Elections office will be offering two training sessions for candidates and committees that have to file political campaign disclosures on February 24th in the Board of Supervisors Chambers at the Rood Center. The first session is from 9 to 11:30 am, and another training session will be from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
