County Gets Million-Dollar Housing Grant

Some permanent housing opportunities for low-income Nevada County residents, thanks to a million-dollar grant to the Housing and Community Services. Which is 31-thousand-five hundred dollars. There’s also a down payment assistance program for first time home buyers, which will provide a loan of up to 60-thousand dollars for a down payment on a home, and you don’t have to start paying back the loan for 30 years as long as you are in the house. Ritter says if you sell the house, though, you would have to pay back the loan immediately…

There are income and home price requirements for that program, so Ritter encourages anyone interested to contact the county. The programs, and the money, will not be available until after the first of the year.
