County Gets Secured Rural Schools Funding

Nevada County and other small counties have won a battle with the federal government and is getting some money for schools and other funding. Small counties have not been getting that money for the past two years, but President Obama has signed a two-year re-authorization of the funding. Beason says some of that money will be used for forest-related projects, but the rest can go to a variety of uses…

Beason recently made a trip to Washington D-C with other R-C-R-C delegates to lobby for the funding, along with some other issues. Beason also credits Congressman Doug LaMalfa and County Superintendent of Schools Holly Hermanson for also lobbying government representatives to secure the funding.
