A Berkeley company has been hired by Nevada County to provided consulting services on marijuana law. According to a county memo, M-I-G Incorporated was selected to “independently facilitate a good-faith, inclusive, and participatory process with stakeholders to ensure that the long term cannabis regulations recommendations to the Board of Supervisors are representative of the community and reflect a sound process.” Supervisor Heidi Hall says bringing in an outside agency was the right move…
According to the county, 16 different organizations were considered before M-I-G was ultimately selected. Hall says there are a lot of marijuana-related bills making their way through the legislature right now…
Hall calls the current county ordinance not much more than a ban, with only limited growing of medical marijuana allowed.
