County Jobless Rate at Four Percent For April

Good news and bad news for Nevada County’s employment picture. The new numbers are out for April, which show a jobless rate of four percent. That’s better than the statewide average of four-and-a-half percent and the national average of four-point-one percent, but the number is worse than March. Luis Allejo with the State Employment Development Department says the biggest hit was in the ‘Leisure and Hospitality’ sector with a loss of 390 jobs. Allejo says, though, that this isn’t unusual…
