County Offers Drive Through Flu Shots

Nevada County Public Health Department’s Emergency Preparedness Program is testing an alternative method of giving medications to the public quickly, as may be necessary in an emergency. To practice doing this,  they are having a Drive-Thru Flu Shot Exercise.  Nevada County Public health Department Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, Patti Carter says they will be  offering the seasonal flu vaccine to the public  Tuesday,  October 16th from 10am-12:30pm in the parking lot of Twin Cities Church on Rough and Ready Highway.

Since this is an Emergency Preparedness Exercise, there will be no cost. This is a Drive-Thru only event; participants will be required to stay in their vehicles. No walk-ups will be allowed for safety reasons.   This is only for adults (NO pregnant women) and teens ages 13 and over.
