County Offers Drive Thru Flu Shots

A training exercise for the Nevada County Health Department will make free flu shots available for Nevada County residents tomorrow (on Tuesday). The exercise will take place at Twin Cities Church Parking lot on the Rough and Ready Highway from 9 a.m.  to 1p.m. or until supplies are gone. Public Heath Coordinator Patti Carter says, this is a drive through event only, Due to safety concerns, walk up will not be permitted.

Carter says there will be no charge to the public because this  is a preparedness exercise for training for flu pandemics.

The Flu shots are available for  those 10 years of age and older, so Carter says this is a good way to get the entire family in the age group vaccinated.

Also for safety, motorists will only be able to access the Twin Cities Church parking lot using a right hand turn from Rough and Ready Highway. Those coming up from Penn Valley will have to made a U turn.
