Co Official Defends Cannabis Legalization Efforts

The Board of Supervisors also passed some modest changes to the ordinance recently that includes eliminating the 25-thousand-dollar penalty cap for violations that could compel more applications for legal grows. The Grand Jury report says the county has only converted two to three-percent of thousands of illegal operations. But Griesbach says they’ve only received 160 applications, with around 115 approved. The report also says permitting fees need to be lowered. But Griesbach says the county can’t do much about that…
