County Posts Final Election Results

Nevada County Elections officials this morning released the final count of the November 6th general election.  Assistant Clerk Recorder Gail Smith says voter participation was 82.9 percent.

Smith also says there was a spike of people registering to vote as we moved closer to the election.

The Nevada County elections office was facing a deadline of 5 0’clock today to certify results of the special Senate District 4 election.

None of the outcomes of the races in Nevada County changed with the final figures. One race that remained close through the counting was for a seat on the Nevada City School District Board. Trish Gerving ended up defeating Erin Minett.

The Secretary of States office has until December 14th to certify statewide results of the November 6th general election.
