It took a couple of extra days, but Nevada County’s Relief Fund website has now gone live. That’s the 100-thousand dollar fund designed to help out businesses and non-profit organizations losing money because of the shelter in place order. Organizer and county spokesman Caleb Dardick says the hundred-thousand dollars is just a starting point, with the hope that private donations will be added…
There is a donate button on the website. Dardick says the funds will ultimately be distributed through micro-grants of up to five thousand dollars…
The Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation will oversee the fund along with the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation and the Sierra Business Council. The website is www.nevcorelief.org. It was originally scheduled to launch on Wednesday, but ended up going live on Friday afternoon.
