County Technology To Streamline Police Paperwork

Grass Valley Police and Nevada County’s Internet and Technology Department are entering into an agreement that will free up officers to do less paperwork and more policing and increase security of the Police Department’s Data base. Nevada County Chief Information Officer Steve Monighan introduced the contract to the county board of supervisors yesterday for approval.

Under the agreement Grass Valley will pay the county $25,941 dollars the first year to include migrating Grass Valley Police Department’s  server resources to the County data center and setting up necessary accounts and systems and the city will pay $16,800 per year thereafter through June 30th 2018.   The county already provides similar services for Nevada City and Truckee Police Departments.
