High Density housing, sometimes referred to as affordable housing, is expected to be a hot topic of conversation when the Nevada County Board of Supervisors meets tomorrow (Tuesday). Planning Department Director Brian Foss says the Planning Commission is recommending close to 700 parcels of county land be re-zoned…
The state is mandating that so many high density units be available, or counties could lose block grant funding. But while all of the parcels affected are in unincorporated areas, several of the parcels are along Brunswick Road, just outside of the Grass Valley city limits. That doesn’t sit well with Grass Valley City Councilmember Howard Levine…
Levine says he’d just like to see the areas more spread out. Some people who live in Penn Valley and Lake of the Pines are also upset about the number of units proposed in their areas. Public comment will be taken. The issue will be discussed during the Board’s afternoon session, which starts at 1:30.
