County To Get New Paratransit Provider

It looks like there will be a new provider of transportation for the elderly and disabled in western Nevada County. The Transit Services Commission, which is a joint body of Grass Valley, Nevada City, and Nevada County officials, has decided to accept a Request for Proposal by a company called Paratransit Services. The Commission voted unanimously to begin negotiations with Paratransit Services, and also authorized the purchase of four A-D-A accessible vans, with a plan for addition purchases in the future. Funding of the buses would come from state and federal dollars. The current contract with Gold Country Telecare expires June 30.
