Nevada County is taking a pro-active approach to the increasing number of flu cases. Patti Carter is the Public Health Coordinator for Emergency Preparedness in Nevada County.*
Carter says it’s not too late to get a flu shot. The Health Department will be offering a community flu shot clinic for free for all ages a week from today…
Carter says the flu shot formula this year is very well matched to the flu strain that is hitting people this flu season.*
Carter says another important part of not getting the flu is to practice prevention. Wash your hands thoroughly and frequently, keep you hands away from your face and cover coughs and sneezes. Once you use a tissue, throw it away, don’t put it in a purse or pocket. Also don’t share food or drinks, and when using hand sanitizer, rub it in until it is completely dry.
