For one day only, the Nevada County Office of Emergency Services is setting up what they are calling a ‘Local Assistance Center’ for victims of the fires. Anyone who has lost their homes, or may have been evacuated, can find out about various services they can receive. County spokeswoman Taylor Wolfe says there are also a couple of national organizations that will provide free cleanup…
FEMA, the County Building Department, the Environmental Health Department, and CalFresh are other agencies that will be on hand. Wolfe says if you can’t make it, you can still call the county’s help line…
The Local Assistance Center will be at 1020 McCourtney Road–Suite C, across from the Brighton Greens Resource Center. It will be open from 10am to 8pm tomorrow (Tuesday) only. Transportation can be provided by calling the information line (265-1218).
