It looks like a portion of a feasibility study for the renovation of the Nevada County Courthouse will come from public money. Nevada City government had hoped to fund the 94-thousand dollar study with private donations, but now the City Council is being asked to approve 30-thousand dollars from Measure L funds. City Manager David Brennan says the state will eventually approve a project to renovate the over-a-century-old courthouse, and he wants to make sure they are ready…
Brennan says 30-grand is a small price to pay for an eventual renovation that would extend the life of the courthouse another 50 years…
This week’s City Council meeting has been canceled, so the funding will be considered at their June 12th meeting. The council took no action on how to spend the three-eighths-of-a-cent sales tax funds that voters approved in November at their special meeting last week.
